Teradata has announced partnerships with ActionIQ and UiPath that aim to offer a new range of solutions for customers in the AI and machine learning space

US software company Teradata has recently announced partnerships with both UiPath and ActionIQ to further deliver AI and machine learning (AI/ML) tools.

The partnership with UiPath, a leading enterprise automation software company, aims to allow enterprises to more seamlessly automate complex data applications directly at the source, including dashboards, generative AI and LLMs. Similarly, Teradata and ActionIQ are embarking upon a joint offering for marketing and customer experience activations for Teradata VantageCloud customers.

These collaborations ultimately highlight Teradata’s open and connected ecosystem to leverage the companies’ collective expertise in AI and technology solutions.

ActionIQ: Opportunities for faster innovation

Teradata is continually committed to AI services and ensuring that businesses are fully aware of all digital transformation opportunities. Its survey, conducted earlier in 2023, highlighted top-down pressure on companies to adopt generative AI, but that just 30% of enterprises were ready to do so.

The company highlighted a disparity, with 89% of those surveyed understanding the potential of generative AI, but 57% believe interest in generative AI products will fade over time.

Teradata, with ActionIQ, is aiming to democratise access to customer data across enterprises and provide technical teams with enhanced control. The goal is to ultimately improve business decision-making and customer experiences with AI/ML. ActionIQ’s architecture is able to provide easy-to-use, self-service data access to marketers while pushing queries into Teradata VantageCloud for the ‘best of both worlds’ in terms of performance, enterprise scale and security.

The goal is for business teams to gain direct, but controlled, access to data and enable self-serve use cases through seamless and scalable integrations with owned and paid channels.

In addition, IT and data teams hope to benefit from zero data latency, scalable governance and worry-free integrations - ultimately freeing up resources previously spent on managing ever-changing requirements. This partnership is designed to future-proof acquisition marketing strategies and improve retention for business teams.

Working with UiPath to ensure AI-driven data validation

With UiPath, Teradata is working to allow enterprises to securely automate complex data applications directly at the source. The partnership aims to reduce customer costs and time-to-market by utilising Teradata data in automation workflows and incorporating enterprise data from Teradata seamlessly into an automated workflow.

Teradata will use UiPath Database Activities and make Teradata data available to use in multi-system, complex and end-to-end processes. UiPath customers are also expected to benefit from Teradata’s expertise in enabling organisations to activate data and analytics, including for AI. Additionally, the partnership will hopefully accelerate AI time to value by managing uncontrolled data growth and modernising the IT environment, delivering flexibility with an open and connected ecosystem and scaling AI innovation across enterprises.

Improving efficiency is key. By simplifying data maintenance, activities will not require as much complex code and any user would now be able to implement automation as part of their data maintenance, testing and administration activities.

“As ChatGPT and other LLMs continue to drive AI-generated automation, this partnership will enable increased improvement and usage of these models. One of the biggest hurdles enterprises face in deriving value from their AI initiatives is when moving analytics from proof-of-concept to production takes too long or doesn’t happen at all,” says Lisa Stewart, Senior Vice President, Worldwide Partners and Alliances at Teradata.

“Teradata and UiPath can help customers scale beyond proof-of-concept to deliver automation – and innovation -- across the enterprise.”

More details on both partnerships will be shared during the Teradata Possible event in Orlando happening 2-4 October 2023.
