Data cloud company, Snowflake has announced the launch of the Healthcare and Life Science Data Cloud for better patient care and business results

With its new Healthcare and Life Science Data Cloud, Snowflake can now provide healthcare companies with a single, integrated, and cross-cloud data platform that eliminates technical and institutional data silos.

The data cloud company’s new solution will enable organisations to securely centralise, integrate, and exchange critical and sensitive data at scale. Ensuring high levels of data security and governance, Snowflake’s built-in capabilities paired with its extended partner network allow companies to meet compliance requirements and satisfy industry regulations.

“The Snowflake Healthcare & Life Sciences Data Cloud can unlock the next generation of innovation in the industry by enabling organisations to take advantage of borderless data access while ensuring strict data governance, security, and privacy compliance,” said Todd Crosslin, Healthcare and Life Sciences Industry Principal at Snowflake.

He added: “The entire industry can benefit from this live, connected ecosystem to get access to the data they need when it's needed. Snowflake is helping healthcare organisations toward their goals of achieving better outcomes for patients, customers, partners, and their businesses.”

Snowflake: unlocking data to deliver improved patient care

As they look to navigate a dynamic and highly regulated landscape, healthcare and life science organisations are under immense pressure due to the widespread reliance on legacy technology, stringent compliance requirements, and a lack of common data sharing models.

Due to this, the industry's ability to capitalise on available data and insights is becoming increasingly complex.

A number of technological factors are impacting the industry such as the increased use of AI, the expanding amount of data and digitalisation of the value change. With these factors, organisations have an accelerated need for an agile, interoperable, and secure data solution, which Snowflake is delivering.

Now, industry-leading customers like Anthem, Health Catalyst, IQVIA, Komodo Health, Novartis and Spectrum Health are using the Healthcare and Life Sciences Data Cloud.

With Snowflake’s solution, organisations are able to unlock data to deliver improved patient outcomes and care experiences, optimising care delivery, and enhance clinical and operational decision-making.

Turning data into sources of insight with Snowflake’s solution

Life science organisations are also leveraging the solution to optimise omnichannel engagement and accelerate time-to-market while collaborating more closely than ever with their healthcare partners.

“At Novartis, we are focused on reimagining medicine to extend people’s lives,” said Loïc Giraud, Head of Novartis’ Global Head of Digital Platform & Product Delivery.

“To do this, we must put data and data science at the heart of everything we do. Snowflake’s Healthcare & Life Sciences Data Cloud is helping us turn our data into incredible sources of insight by accelerating our ability to ingest, curate and share data in a timely manner that wouldn’t be possible with other solutions. Snowflake is helping us get our patients faster access to the medicine they need,” he added.

Within the Healthcare & Life Sciences Data Cloud, Snowflake also offers partner solutions and enables partner-delivered solutions.

These end-to-end solutions incorporate Snowflake’s unique interoperability and secure data sharing capabilities to connect the healthcare and life sciences ecosystem.
