Tech CEOs Push for US-Led AI Coalition at G7 Summit

Anthropic’s Dario Amodei and other tech executives are calling for a US-led coalition to establish regulatory frameworks around AI use.

The CEO proposed international cooperation during a meeting with US President Donald Trump and several other industry tech leaders.

The meeting took place at the G7 summit in Évian-les-Bains, France.

Two summit attendees state that the initiative would help protect against risks associated with the technology, adding that they are not authorised to discuss further details of the meeting.

Canadian Prime Minister, Mark Carney, agrees that the US should lead the AI coalition. The meeting follows the release of increasingly powerful AI models that house advanced abilities.

HSBC will deploy Google Cloud across its operations in a partnership that could show how large language models integrate into regulated industries at scale.

The multi-year agreement provides HSBC with access to Gemini models and the Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform.

Engineering teams from both Google Cloud and Google DeepMind will work directly with the bank to build AI tools across three initial deployment areas.

Meta: How a Tech Giant was Transformed by Dramatic AI Pivot

Meta is facing its most severe internal crisis in two decades, with CTO Andrew Bosworth conceding that staff morale is near its lowest level in 20 years.

According to reports from Mashable, management is offering more snacks, bigger travel budgets and office socials to help solve the problem. However, employees have apparently given these measures a cold reception.

WIRED reports that Andrew is blunt about the organisation's troubles. He said in an internal post that the company is no longer a place where workers can easily have an impact, adding: "We've undermined the trust you have that your specific expertise and contribution will be valued."
