Chelsea’s pact with IFS turns the club into a living lab for industrial AI, going beyond a shirt deal and offering a blueprint for data-driven enterprises

IFS has entered a multi-year global partnership with Chelsea FC that goes far beyond a front-of-shirt logo.

By aligning with the Premier League side, IFS is using elite sport to demonstrate how industrial AI can operate as an enterprise-wide fabric in complex, always-on environments.

The deal positions Chelsea as a live reference customer for IFS’s AI agents and asset-centric platform, connecting matchday performance with the same technologies underpinning critical infrastructure and manufacturing worldwide.

Principal Partner status

Under the agreement, IFS becomes Chelsea’s Principal Partner and will appear on the front of the club’s shirt for the remainder of the 2025/26 season.

More significantly, the collaboration embeds advanced AI at the heart of football performance, operational excellence and fan engagement, making the club a flagship implementation for IFS.ai.

“We are incredibly proud to partner with IFS and leverage their leading edge AI software to help propel the club to even greater success,” says Jason Gannon, President of Chelsea FC.

Industrial AI meets a high-performance enterprise

IFS specialises in solving complex, real‑world operational problems for organisations that manufacture goods. Its software embeds AI across ERP, EAM, and service management to deliver capabilities such as predictive maintenance and real-time analytics.

Those same levers are now being tuned for Chelsea across its stadium Stamford Bridge, training ground at Cobham and the club’s global fan ecosystem.

“In sport – as in industry – the margins are small, the stakes are high and the right decision at the right moment is everything,” says Mark Moffat, CEO of IFS.

“Chelsea FC holds itself to that same uncompromising standard, and that shared ambition is exactly why we’re proud to be their Principal Partner.”

Translating industrial AI into football operations

Treating Chelsea as a high‑performance, asset‑intensive enterprise, IFS will connect people, assets and intelligence in real time to drive precision across training-ground workload management.

The same orchestration engines that schedule field engineers are being adapted to manage player availability and the end-to-end experiences of millions of supporters. The goal is to sharpen Chelsea’s competitive edge on the pitch while elevating outcomes across the business and brand.

Crucially, the partnership signals a shift from logo-led sponsorships to technology alliances grounded in shared roadmaps, measurable outcomes and operational integration. It highlights how Industrial AI is maturing into a horizontal capability that can be lifted from traditional sectors and applied wherever there are intensive service demands.

It also frames AI as a board-level change agent moving beyond isolated pilots to become a layer of the operating model that spans functions rather than sitting in silos.

Why elite sport is the perfect proving ground

Football provides frequent, measurable and highly-scrutinised outcomes, compressing learning cycles and raising the bar for demonstrable results.

If IFS.ai can show tangible gains in performance and fan experience across Chelsea’s training base at Cobham and match operations at Stamford Bridge, it will strengthen the case for asset-centric AI as an operating fabric capable of extending beyond single use cases to rewire end-to-end operations.

Embedding IFS.ai as a foundation also allows Chelsea to place guardrails around how AI-driven recommendations inform decision-making.

For leaders shaping AI roadmaps, the message is that the future of operational excellence lies in platforms that connect people in real time, and in partnerships that make that transformation visible.
