IFS Appoints Robi Gone as its New CIO to Drive AI Strategy
Industrial AI leader IFS has appointed Robi Gone as its new CIO, marking a key leadership transition aimed at accelerating the company’s global technology transformation and digital innovation roadmap.
Robi succeeds Helena Nimmo, who is retiring after a tenure defined by significant IT modernisation and inclusion achievements.
The appointment aligns with IFS’ ongoing strategy to scale its IT and AI-driven capabilities as it strengthens its position as a global enterprise software leader across asset-intensive sectors.
Who is Robi Gone, IFS’ new CIO?
Robi brings more than a decade of leadership experience from energy major Shell, where he held multiple senior IT roles.
In his most recent position as IT Global GM for Finance, he led Shell’s finance technology transformation, driving the deployment of advanced ERP solutions, performance management frameworks and extensive SaaS integrations.
Robi’s background includes designing digital foundations and driving operational excellence across complex, global enterprises.
Before joining Shell in 2015, he developed extensive consulting expertise at Deloitte and Accenture, where he advised major clients on digital enterprise transformation and SAP programme delivery.
At IFS, Robi will report directly to CEO Mark Moffat and serve on the Executive Board, guiding the company’s global IT strategy amid a period of rapid growth.
IFS’ CIO’s innovation agenda
The leadership change comes as IFS builds on its strong momentum under CEO Mark, who has led the company since 2024 with a clear focus on cloud-native AI innovation and creating value for a rapidly expanding, globally diverse customer base.
With Robi’s appointment, IFS is set to further strengthen its digital backbone and expand its IT capabilities in line with the innovative solutions it provides to customers around the world.
Speaking of Robi’s appointment, Mark says: “I am delighted to welcome Robi to IFS.
“His expertise in leading enterprise transformation at Shell and building large-scale digital platforms will be instrumental as we continue to modernise and scale our global IT landscape. Robi brings exactly the expertise we need at this stage of our growth.
“I also want to thank Helena for her leadership and impact as CIO. She has shaped our IT strategy, strengthened our security capabilities and embedded AI across the organisation. Beyond her IT leadership, Helena has been a passionate advocate for diversity and inclusion at IFS.”
Robi adds: “I am excited to be joining IFS at such a pivotal moment.
“IFS has established itself as the undisputed global leader in Industrial AI and I look forward to ensuring our own technology foundation exemplifies that same innovation: enabling us to scale efficiently while delivering excellence for our people and our customers.”
