Poland’s Sovereign AI Factory with Nvidia and Beyond.pl

Demand to build sovereign AI infrastructure across Europe has crept up as nations seek to balance technological advancement with data sovereignty concerns.
European enterprises increasingly need high-performance computing resources that comply with regional regulations while enabling them to compete globally in AI development – which has sparked substantial investment in local AI infrastructure that meets the dual requirements of computational power and data governance.
Now, Poland is emerging as a potential hub for AI computing in Central and Eastern Europe. The region has historically lagged behind Western European markets in advanced computing infrastructure, forcing organisations to either limit their AI ambitions or rely on cloud providers outside their regulatory jurisdiction.
Yet a Polish data centre provider, Beyond.pl, has launched what it calls a sovereign AI Factory using Nvidia hardware at its campus in Poznan, marking the first high-performance AI computing platform in Central Eastern Europe with local data control capabilities.
The enhancement of Nvidia hardware implementation
Beyond.pl has deployed NvidiaDGX SuperPOD technology utilising the latest NvidiaBlackwell GPU architecture and DGX B200 systems connected via NvidiaQuantum-2 InfiniBand networking.
The infrastructure positions the firm as one of the initial operators in the region to offer comprehensive AI development support.
“We are investing in cutting-edge infrastructure and software that provides gigantic computing power so that businesses driving innovation in Poland and the CEE region can do so while ensuring control over data and the IP that they create with the ability to competitively scale their innovations globally, without any constraints,” says Wojciech Stramski, Beyond.pl CEO.
The implementation also incorporates Pure Storage FlashBlade//S500 systems – a consolidated scale-out storage platform designed for both file and object storage that has received certification for NvidiaDGX SuperPOD environments
Pure Storage provides enterprise data storage hardware and software products.
Connected through Nvidia Spectrum Ethernet networking, the storage configuration enables simultaneous processing of multiple data streams, which reduces loading times and increases speed for both AI model training and inference workloads.
“Pure Storage's enterprise capabilities, experience in scaling AI solutions for customers, and seamless SuperPOD integration with FlashBlade means we're well positioned to support Beyond.pl's AI Factory,” says Omar Akar, RVP, METCA region at Pure Storage
The first phase of Beyond.pl's large-scale AI factory development
This launch is the initial stage of a broader initiative to establish a large-scale sovereign AI Factory on the Beyond.pl data centre campus, as the company plans to leverage its renewable energy infrastructure and power usage efficiency to host additional Nvidia computing platforms.
Beyond.pl states it can deliver high-density colocation – the housing of servers and related components in a shared facility – of up to 140kW per rack for accelerated AI infrastructure at its campus, which has up to 100MW committed power.
This development aligns with Nvidia's strategy to support the creation of AI factories.
Industry projections also suggest dozens of 'gigawatt AI factories' will be constructed in coming years to meet growing demand for AI computing capabilities.
“AI Factories are the engines of a new industrial revolution, enabling nations and enterprises to manufacture intelligence at unprecedented scale,” says Carlo Ruiz, Vice President, Enterprise Solutions at Nvidia.
“The Beyond.pl NvidiaDGX SuperPOD brings transformative AI supercomputing to Central Eastern Europe, empowering innovators with sovereign, high-performance infrastructure to accelerate breakthroughs and fuel the region's global AI ambitions,” he adds.
How renewable energy and heat recovery is powering Beyond.pl’s infrastructure
Furthermore, the data centre operates entirely on renewable energy sources.
- Located in Poznan, Poland
- 150MW target capacity
- Offers multiple rated levels from 3+ to 4
- Provides data transfer times to major European cities including key markets Berlin and Warsaw (4ms), Prague (7ms), Frankfurt (11ms), Amsterdam (16ms) and London (24ms) round trip
- Data Centre 2: 100% uptime, ANSI/TIA-942 Rated 4 certification
- 1.2 PUE
- Low water consumption (WUE)
Beyond.pl is collaborating with Veolia Energia Poznan on a project to recover approximately 30 MW of waste heat in the project's first phase, making it Poland's first heat recovery initiative between a data centre and a district heating company.
Beyond.pl has also provided information technology services for nearly 20 years and maintains partnerships with global providers.
“The introduction of the NvidiaDGX SuperPOD, the world's most modern AI supercomputer, to Beyond.pl eliminates the critical problem of lack of access to sovereign high-performance computing power to further the democratisation of access to AI,” says Wojciech.
