1. Mustafa Suleyman

Job From: Co-founder & CEO at Inflection AI

Job To: CEO of Microsoft AI​​​​​​​

Mustafa Suleyman

“It’s been an amazing journey, with so much more to come.”

Mustafa Suleyman, co-founder of DeepMind (now Google DeepMind) and Inflection, was appointed CEO of Microsoft AI to run a new consumer AI unit. With his extensive background in AI, he is set to lead all consumer AI products and research at Microsoft, including Copilot, Bing and Edge.

Mustafa’s appointment is the latest move by Microsoft to cement itself as one of the largest global companies. He brings with him more than 15 years of experience as an entrepreneur, technologist and AI leader and joins the company alongside longtime collaborator Karén Simonyan, in addition to 70 staff members from Inflection.

2. Thomas Zacharia

Job From: Laboratory Director at Oak Ridge National Laboratory

Job To: SVP of Strategic Technology Partnerships and Public Policy at AMD

Thomas Zacharia

Joining AMD in March 2024, Zacharia leads the company’s global expansion of public/private relationships with governments, NGOs and other organisations. He aims to fast-track AMD-powered AI solutions to meet rising customer demand.

3. Shan Shan Wong

Job From: Chief Operating Officer of Stability AI

Job To: Interim co-CEO of Stability AI​​​​​​​

Shan Shan Wong's most recent role at Stability AI was as COO. She joined the company in November 2023 and works closely with the leadership to define the company’s vision as well as its strategy and objectives. Based in London, she holds valuable experience as a board member and investor.

4. Christian Laforte

Job From: Chief Technology Officer of Stability AI

Job To: Interim co-CEO of Stability AI​​​​​​​

With more than 25 years of experience in the technology industry, Christian has held senior roles in several leading technology companies. He has also founded and grown technology startups. As co-CEO, he and Shan Shan Wong seek to steer the company forward in developing and commercialising industry-leading generative AI products.
