Palo Alto Networks surpasses US$1.5bn in sales via Google Cloud, marking a new chapter in AI-led cybersecurity as threats evolve

Palo Alto Networks’ strong collaboration with Google Cloud has reached a milestone.

The company confirms it has surpassed US$1.5bn in cumulative sales through Google Cloud Marketplace, underlining the growing enterprise need for integrated cybersecurity as AI and cloud computing become central to digital operations.

This landmark achievement reflects more than just commercial success. It also signals the rise in demand for security solutions that align with the complexity and scale of AI-powered environments.

In the face of advanced threats and increasingly distributed cloud infrastructure, the partnership supports businesses to build and run applications in the cloud, protected by AI-enhanced security from end to end.

Building AI-led security into the cloud

Palo Alto Networks integrates 75 solutions co-engineered with Google Cloud into its portfolio, enabling secure infrastructure for businesses embracing AI technologies.

With organisations now building AI models, training datasets and running applications in the cloud, the associated security risks have escalated.

AI systems require constant protection from threats targeting training data, inference models and their overall architecture.

"With Google Cloud, we combine their AI/ML capabilities with Palo Alto Networks industry-leading security platforms to provide a comprehensive suite of AI-driven security offerings," says Kristy Friedrichs, Chief Partnerships Officer at Palo Alto Networks.

Through Google Cloud Marketplace, the company delivers 31 distinct listings.

These range from virtual firewalls to AI-Runtime Security tools and they’re backed by 20 technical documents and reference architectures.

This makes it easier for businesses to adopt and deploy AI-native cybersecurity tools at speed.

The model streamlines procurement and supports seamless implementation, a key advantage in today’s high-pressure tech landscape.

Palo Alto Networks’ platformisation strategy addresses the challenge of ‘security sprawl’ – where multiple unconnected tools lead to visibility gaps and operational inefficiencies.

Its unified stack consolidates security across networks, operations and cloud environments, driven by AI to detect, respond and adapt in real time.

Strategic recognition at Google Next

At the 2025 Google Next event, Palo Alto Networks received five awards, cementing its role as a leader in AI-powered security. These include:

  • 2025 Google Cloud Artificial Intelligence — Global Technology

  • 2025 Google Cloud Artificial Intelligence — Security

  • 2025 Google Cloud Security — Infrastructure Protection

  • 2025 Google Cloud Security — Marketplace

  • 2025 Google Cloud Technology — Marketplace

This recognition highlights how the alliance is influencing the broader cybersecurity landscape.

Kevin Ichhpurani, President, Global Partner Ecosystem at Google Cloud, says: "We're proud to honour Palo Alto Networks as our Artificial Intelligence Partner of the Year for Global Technology.

"By combining Google Cloud's AI technology with their security expertise, Palo Alto Networks has developed comprehensive solutions that address evolving security risks and help customers stay ahead of threats with solutions available on Google Cloud Marketplace."

Google also used the event to announce key upgrades to its cybersecurity offerings.

These include the launch of Google Unified Security, a converged platform that brings together threat intelligence, cloud security and operations.

This is designed to enable faster response times and better visibility using a centralised, AI-powered data fabric.

Other additions include a new Mandiant Threat Defense service, enhanced Data Security Posture Management features and expanded threat intelligence through automated triage agents and malware analysis tools.

Together, these tools offer organisations deeper protection and control in AI-era security operations.

Cybersecurity at scale in the AI era

The global push toward cloud and AI has changed the shape of enterprise security.

Organisations are no longer managing static, on-premise environments but are running dynamic, multi-cloud infrastructures where threats evolve quickly and traditional defences often fall short.

Palo Alto Networks meets this challenge by embedding AI into every layer of its security architecture.

Solutions like AI-Runtime Security and Prisma Cloud enable granular protection of sensitive AI workloads while maintaining the flexibility needed to operate across hybrid and multi-cloud setups.

The partnership with Google Cloud not only showcases a shared commitment to innovation but highlights the importance of trust and scalability in today’s cybersecurity strategies.

As organisations adapt to AI-driven disruption, Palo Alto Networks’ integrated approach positions it as a critical player in safeguarding digital futures.
