Techno Digital, a unit of Techno Electric & Engineering Company Limited (TEECL), is launching a 36MW hyperscale data hub in Chennai’s SIPCOT IT Park.

Occupying an impressive 200,000 sq. ft., the data centre is equipped to accommodate roughly 2,400 high-density racks, offering flexible power capacities ranging from 10kW to 50kW per rack and beyond.
Situated perfectly within Chennai’s IT corridor, the centre benefits from close proximity to multiple cable landing stations and domestic network hubs, providing customers with heightened connectivity choices and protection against climatic vulnerabilities.
How Techno Digital’s data centre is optimised for AI workloads
This data centre in Chennai is designed to support the demands of high-performance computing and AI applications.
It features an on-site 110kV GIS substation with dual power inputs from independent substations, connected by underground cabling to assure reliability.
Key IT loads in the server halls utilise advanced UPS systems, tested and certified in collaboration with Nvidia’s latest GB200 series.
The cooling system integrates centrifugal water-cooled chillers alongside adiabatic cooling towers, which contribute to a 75% reduction in water consumption while maintaining efficient operational PUE.

The data centre’s sustainability achievements
Sustainability is a core focus in the design of the Chennai data centre.
Notably, it has dedicated 25% of the total site area to green spaces, setting a precedent in the region.
By incorporating energy-efficient exterior elements along with cooling towers, the centre ensures the reduction of water usage and minimizes heat accumulation.
Additionally, its advanced water treatment and recycling systems facilitate the responsible management of resources.
