IBMâs Enterprise AI Evolution with Hybrid Cloud Innovation
IBM has announced a suite of new enterprise AI products built for production readiness and seamless integration to hypercharge AI adoption across organisations.
At the IBM TechXchange 2025, the company unveiled a series of innovations that help companies move beyond AI experimentation and securely operationalise AI.
Among the products announced, is IBMâs new agentic AI framework, watsonx Orchestrate, that offers over 500 tools and customisable domain specific AI agents.
The platform is built to simplify complex workflows by allowing users to create, deploy and manage AI agents that collaborate across business functions.
Orchestrate features AgentOps, an agentic observability and governance layer which can provide complete transparency through real-time monitoring.
Dinesh Nirmal, Senior Vice President of Products, IBM Software says that AI productivity is the new speed of business.
âThese features will help clients remove bottlenecks across their entire technology lifecycle.
âWith these enhancements across our portfolio, weâre giving customers capabilities that take developer productivity, agentic orchestration and infrastructure intelligence to the next level.â
IBMâs AI first IDE to speed up software development
IBMâs new Integrated Development Environment (IDE), Project Bob has integrated AI capabilities that can speed up and modernise organisationâs Software development Lifecycles (SDLC).
Project Bob is equipped to work alongside developers to write, test, upgrade and help secure source code.
It enables software developers to directly chat with Bob inside the text editor, speeding up workflows with the help of AI assistance that knows the enterprise architecture.
IBM says that over 6000 of their developers are already using Bob and have reported an average of 45% productivity gains.
The project is now in tech preview scale, heralding a major milestone in integrating AI into software development lifecycles.
IBM and Anthropic partnering to accelerate enterprise AI
As a result of a partnership with Anthropicâs, Claude LLM will be infused into IBM products including in Project Bob.
Dinesh said on LinkedIn that less than 5% of enterprises are getting ROI from their AI investments.
âTogether, IBM and Anthropic are focused on breaking down those barriers to using AI effectively, efficiently and safely.â
Mike Krieger, Chief Product Officer at Anthropic says that: âEnterprises are looking for AI they can actually trust with their code, their data and their day-to-day operations.â
âClaude has become the go-to AI for developers at the worldâs largest companies because of our focus on safety and reliability.
âThis partnership with IBM lets us bring that same level of dedication to even more enterprise teams while building the open standards that will make AI agents genuinely useful in business environments.â
IBM bringing agentic AI to mainframe
With its upcoming watsonx Assistant for Z, IBM Z agents will soon enable the shift from reactive troubleshooting to proactive system management.
These assistants can help coordinate across agents, assistants and tools, understand conversational context and automate operational process â all the while maintaining security and policy compliance.
