Oracle and Red Bull Racing's renewed agreement builds on a relationship that began in 2021 and will continue into Formula 1's next technical era

Red Bull Racing has confirmed a multi-year extension to its title partnership with Oracle, strengthening a collaboration that places cloud computing and AI at the centre of the team’s Formula 1 operations.

The renewed agreement builds on a relationship that began in 2021 and will continue into the sport’s next technical era.

Sweeping changes have been introduced ahead of the 2026 season, which gets under way in Melbourne this weekend.

The partnership is built on the use of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and Oracle AI to support the team’s engineering, race strategy and business functions.

Laurent Mekies, CEO and Team Principal of Oracle Red Bull Racing, comments: "Since Oracle became the Team’s title partner in 2021, the team has delivered three Drivers’ World Championships, two Constructors’ World Championships and broken many records.

“Our partnership with Oracle has been hugely successful and we are delighted that we will continue together into this new era for F1.

“We rely on Oracle’s invaluable expertise to help us understand and optimise countless variables with greater precision and speed than the competition.

“With Oracle Cloud and Oracle AI, we can adapt quickly, make smarter decisions and sustain the level of performance required to win Championships and we look forward to continued success in this multi-year partnership.”

New AI strategy tools to support race engineers

As part of the expanded collaboration, Oracle Red Bull Racing is introducing an AI strategy agent designed to assist engineers during race weekends.

The tool will automatically gather race data and analyse both historical information and live inputs in real time.

By organising and presenting insights more quickly, the system aims to help engineers react faster to changing conditions such as tyre performance, weather shifts or rival team strategies.

Rather than replacing human expertise, the technology is designed to enhance it by providing quicker access to data driven insights.

Data analysis and simulation have become essential elements of modern-day Formula 1. Teams now rely heavily on cloud computing platforms to process telemetry and performance metrics before and during races, helping them prepare strategies that can adapt to rapidly changing race conditions.

Red Bull Ford Powertrains’ hybrid engine debut

The next-generation hybrid engine, Red Bull Ford Powertrains, which was engineered with and tested extensively on OCI, is a major milestone the partners crossed.

Using Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, engineers can run detailed simulations that test potential configurations for the next generation engine. This allows the team to model factors including energy deployment, aerodynamic performance and tyre behaviour under the upcoming rule changes.

Running these simulations in the cloud enables the team to analyse thousands of possible scenarios during the design phase, helping refine components and systems before they are tested in real world conditions.

The 2026 regulations brings extra extra pressure, as it demands increased sophistication in modelling, as Oracle notes: “OCI enables the team to run deeper, more granular simulations tailored to the new strategic landscape.

“These next-generation models – far richer and more varied than in previous seasons – account for energy usage, active aero configurations, deployment windows, tire interactions and thousands of potential race scenarios.”

Expanding technology across team operations

Beyond its technical impact on the race car, the extended partnership will also introduce additional Oracle software across the team’s business operations.

Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications will be deployed to support areas such as finance, human resources and marketing.

The aim is to streamline internal processes and help the organisation operate more efficiently as it continues to grow both on and off the track.

“Oracle Red Bull Racing relies on Oracle Cloud and Oracle AI to achieve the highest levels of performance and solve some of the most complex, time-critical challenges in the world,” says Clay Magouyrk, Co-CEO at Oracle.

“The same technologies the team uses to model strategy, refine its hybrid power unit, and deploy the latest AI innovations trackside are the ones powering transformation for companies across every industry.

“Whether on the track or in the enterprise, Oracle Cloud and Oracle AI deliver the speed and intelligence needed to win.”

With the partnership continuing into Formula 1’s next regulatory cycle, Oracle Red Bull Racing aims to maintain its competitive advantage by combining engineering expertise with advanced cloud and AI technology.
