Google Cloud & Cognizant: Scaling Enterprise Agentic AI Ops
Cognizant has unveiled an expanded strategic alliance with Google Cloud, marking a decisive evolution from isolated AI pilots to the full-scale deployment of agentic AI across the enterprise.
Rather than remaining in the realm of experimentation, this next chapter is designed to help organisations advance beyond routine automation and toward intelligent systems capable of independently orchestrating complex, multi-step business processes.
The plan is for autonomous AI agents that can operate across enterprise ecosystems to deliver defined business outcomes with minimal human oversight.
At the heart of the collaboration sits a new productivity offering that integrates Google’s Gemini Enterprise with Google Workspace.
The combined suite aims to replace fragmented, manual workflows with cohesive, AI-powered operations that enhance efficiency and collaboration at scale.
Among the standout applications are automated supplier communications, collaborative content development and intelligent order management.
These are delivered through the Cognizant Agent Foundry, which offers pre-configured, no-code solutions tailored to address intricate operational challenges.
By lowering technical barriers, the platform enables organisations to accelerate adoption while maintaining operational control.
Establishing enterprise-grade AI frameworks
To underpin this shift with the rigour enterprise environments demand, Cognizant is launching a dedicated Gemini Enterprise Centre of Excellence.
The centre will implement a proprietary Agent Development Lifecycle (ADLC) – a structured framework embedding AI into every stage of development, from early-stage design and blueprinting to production deployment and validation.
This ADLC model may represent a meaningful advance toward standardising how autonomous AI agents are built and scaled. By embedding governance, reliability, and scalability into the lifecycle itself, it addresses persistent concerns about deploying AI in production environments.
Annadurai Elango, President, Core Technologies and Insights, Cognizant, says: “This partnership reinforces Cognizant's position as an AI builder, a new kind of services partner focused on creating purpose-built, enterprise-grade solutions that drive real business outcomes.
“Cognizant brings together the optimal combination of people and technology, including proprietary IP and deep services expertise, to build industry-specific platforms, embed context into systems and co-create agentic solutions tailored to each client's business.”
Optimising data foundations for AI
Recognising that even the most sophisticated AI systems depend on high-quality data, the partnership uses Cognizant Ignition (enabled by Gemini) to fast-track the assessment and optimisation of enterprise data estates.
Clean, contextual and comprehensive datasets are positioned as foundational requirements for dependable agentic systems.
To further support global scale, the initiative includes a worldwide network of Gemini-trained specialists. These experts will extend delivery capabilities across Google Distributed Cloud programmes, ensuring that agentic solutions operate seamlessly across diverse infrastructures and digital environments.
The strategy reflects a broader industry consensus: successful AI deployment relies as heavily on infrastructure maturity as it does on algorithmic innovation.
Scaling agentic AI deployment
Kevin Ichhpurani, President of Global Ecosystem and Channels at Google Cloud, adds: “Our partnership with Cognizant brings together advanced AI technology and deep industry expertise to help enterprises operationalise agentic AI.
“Together, we are enabling organisations to deploy enterprise-ready AI solutions that deliver real business impact.”
As enterprises increasingly demand governance, transparency and measurable returns from AI initiatives, the Cognizant–Google Cloud alliance positions agentic AI as a critical driver of operational transformation.
By pairing Google Cloud’s infrastructure strengths with Cognizant’s industry expertise and implementation capabilities, the collaboration aims to establish repeatable blueprints for agentic AI adoption across sectors.
