As some commentators contend that AI is a bubble set to burst, Anthropic continues to raise the stakes.

A US$30bn Series G funding round led by led by GIC and Coatue means the trailblazing startup is now valued at a cool US$380bn.

It comes as the company launches Claude Opus 4.6 and embarks on an ambitious expansion in India, aided by a game-changing new partnership with Infosys.

Anthropic's bold expansion plans

Bidding to develop and deliver advanced enterprise AI solutions, Anthropic has joined forces with Infosys, a global leader in next-generation IT services.

Infosys is headquartered in Bengaluru, nicknamed India’s Silicon Valley, where Anthropic is also setting up its first Indian office to expand its physical presence and strategic relations across the country.

India is the second-biggest market in the world for the Claude AI assistant.

“India represents one of the world’s most promising opportunities to bring the benefits of responsible AI to vastly more people and enterprises,” says Irina Ghose, Managing Director of India at Anthropic.

“Already, it’s home to extraordinary technical talent, digital infrastructure at scale and a proven track record of using technology to improve people’s lives.

“That’s exactly the foundation you need to make sure this technology reaches the people who can benefit from it most.”

Funding boost

In addition to GIC and Coatue, the Series G funding round was co-led by D. E. Shaw Ventures, Dragoneer, Founders Fund, ICONIQ and MGX.

The cash injection also included a portion of previously-announced investments from Microsoft and NVIDIA.

“Whether it is entrepreneurs, startups or the world’s largest enterprises, the message from our customers is the same: Claude is increasingly becoming critical to how businesses work,” says Krishna Rao, CFO at Anthropic.

“This fundraising reflects the incredible demand we are seeing from these customers, and we will use this investment to continue building the enterprise-grade products and models they have come to depend on.”

Anthropic's current run-rate revenue stands at US$14bn, having multiplied more than 10 times in each of the past three years.

Eight out of the Fortune 10 are Claude customers, while business subscriptions to Claude Code have quadrupled since the beginning of 2026, showcasing stellar growth that continues to catch the eye of investors.

“Since our initial investment in 2025, Anthropic’s focus on agentic coding and enterprise-grade AI systems has accelerated its progress toward large-scale adoption,” says Philippe Laffont, Founder and Portfolio Manager at Coatue.

“The team’s ability to rapidly scale its offerings further positions Anthropic as a leader in a highly competitive AI market.”

Anthropic and Infosys focus on agentic AI

Anthropic and Infosys' partnership will see Claude models and Claude Code integrated into Infosys Topaz, an AI-first set of services that leverage agentic and Gen AI solutions to quicken software development with the added benefit of transparent and regulated AI governance.

“There’s a big gap between an AI model that works in a demo and one that works in a regulated industry – and if you want to close that gap, you need domain expertise,” notes Dario Amodei, Co-Founder and CEO of Anthropic.

“Infosys has exactly that kind of expertise across important industries: telecom, financial services, and manufacturing. Their developers are already using Claude Code to accelerate their work and to create AI agents for industries that demand precision, compliance and deep domain knowledge.”

The goal here is to transform operations of AI from passively answering questions to actively contributing to production – this happens when AI agents can, for example, process claims, generate and test code or manage compliance reviews.

Anthropic’s Claude Agent SDK can help build those agents capable of working “persistently across long, complex tasks and processes”.

“AI is not just transforming business – it is redefining the way industries operate and innovate,” says Salil Parekh, CEO at Infosys.

“Our collaboration with Anthropic marks a strategic leap toward advancing enterprise AI, enabling organisations to unlock value and become more intelligent, resilient and responsible.

“From modernising financial services with intelligent risk management and compliance, to enabling engineering businesses to lead with AI-driven design and manufacturing, the goal is to leverage the joint expertise of Infosys and Anthropic to accelerate AI value realisation for global enterprises.”

Infosys shares rose 5% within hours of its collaboration announcement with Anthropic.
