The new Amazon Connect Talent – now available in preview – uses AI "teammates" to conduct 24/7 interviews and score candidates, easing the hiring process

Amazon has unveiled a suite of agentic AI solutions designed to transform business operations, starting with Amazon Connect Talent, a platform that leverages AI agents to automate and accelerate recruitment processes.

The tech giant has made Amazon Connect Talent available in preview, offering organisations AI-powered capabilities to conduct structured voice interviews, administer science-backed assessments and score candidates at scale.

The system operates continuously across any device, enabling interviews to take place around the clock. AI agents handle the initial screening process, generating detailed candidate evaluations alongside transcripts and scoring data for hiring managers to review.

Applicant Tracking System (ATS) integration is designed to facilitate rapid deployment while maintaining flexibility during high-volume hiring periods.

Colleen Aubrey, Senior Vice President at Amazon Web Services (AWS) Applied AI Solutions, explains that Amazon Connect is evolving into four distinct agentic AI solutions: Amazon Connect Decisions, Amazon Connect Talent, Amazon Connect Customer and Amazon Connect Health.

These systems are "designed to integrate into how your teams already work, not the other way around," she notes.

"You may already know Amazon Connect," she writes in a blog post. "It began as the technology powering Amazon's retail customer service, and we've spent years learning how to run it at scale.

"That success taught us how to build AI solutions that work in the real world and now we're applying those same learnings across other critical business functions where we have similar operational expertise.

"As part of this evolution, our original customer engagement solution, Amazon Connect, is now called Amazon Connect Customer."

AI agents tackle supply chain complexity

Amazon Connect Decisions applies agentic AI to supply chain optimisation while maintaining human oversight.

According to Colleen, most supply chain disruptions take "companies more than two weeks to resolve," resulting in millions lost to "working capital, stockouts and penalties".

The platform addresses the challenge of manual coordination that leaves planning teams navigating fragmented systems and reconciling disconnected reports. Traditional approaches require extensive configuration time and resources.

Built on more than 25 specialised supply chain tools and 30 years of Amazon operational science, the system takes a different approach. It programmes forecasting models and AI agents to handle the computational workload directly.

Amazon Connect Decisions can understand business context, establish product-specific forecasts and maintain updates as business conditions change.

"They proactively ask for information that will impact forecasts – like upcoming promotions or holidays – and factor those inputs into results," Colleen says.

Transparency in AI decision-making

The platform aims to provide complete visibility into AI recommendations and decision-making processes. This approach allows business leaders to maintain control over operations.

"AI teammates continuously learn from your team's actions, translating those learnings into better planning, analysis and recommendations," Colleen adds. The system adapts based on human feedback and decisions.

The deployment of these agentic AI solutions signals Amazon's broader strategy to apply operational AI expertise developed through its retail operations to enterprise business functions. This positions the company to compete in the growing market for autonomous AI agents.

These agents are capable of handling complex, multi-step workflows across various business domains.
