Jason McMurdie
Senior Vice President of Technology
As Senior Vice President of Technology at iFIT, Jason McMurdie is the driving force behind one of the connected fitness industry’s most ambitious technological transformations. In under two years, he has orchestrated a fundamental rebuild of iFIT’s digital backbone, strategically positioning iconic brands like NordicTrack and ProForm for a data-driven, customer-focused future. His work is not merely a modernisation; it is a ground-up reimagining of how a global leader operates at scale.
Jason’s unique perspective is forged from a diverse career that began in aerospace engineering with Westland Helicopters in the UK, before moving into cross-industry ERP consulting. His extensive experience, spanning sectors from food and beverage to chemical engineering, provided him with a rare ability to apply solutions from one industry to solve complex challenges in another.
At iFIT, he leverages the cross-functional insight to dismantle legacy systems and build a resilient, agile and intelligent digital ecosystem.
Upon joining iFIT, Jason was tasked with untangling what its CEO termed a “quagmire swamp” of data – a fragmented infrastructure that hindered real-time decision-making. He responded by leading a flawless overnight migration to the AWS cloud and spearheading a global rollout of SAP S/4HANA. The cornerstone project, executed with zero custom code, is creating a single source of truth for the entire organisation, enabling instant visibility into everything from inventory levels to supply chain logistics.
Simultaneously, Jason has transformed iFIT’s customer-facing technology, championing a shift to a headless e-commerce architecture, enabling IFIT to adapt to local market demands rapidly. He has further forged critical partnerships, leveraging Salesforce’s Einstein and Agentforce to optimise customer service and working closely with Alibaba and AWS to navigate China’s unique technological landscape. The strategic collaboration has been instrumental in replicating iFIT’s entire content streaming infrastructure within the country, ensuring compliance and a seamless user experience.
Perhaps Jason’s most profound impact has been on iFIT’s internal culture. He has transformed the IT department from a reactive support function into a proactive, strategic business partner. The results are quantifiable: employee morale has skyrocketed from a score of -45 to +11 under his leadership. Achieving such a trajectory was made possible by not replacing staff, but more effectively empowering the existing team through investment, trust and clear career pathways.
His leadership philosophy is best captured in his own words: “Train people well enough that they can leave, but create an environment where they don’t want to.”
By marrying deep technical expertise with a deeply human-centric approach to change, Jason is not just implementing new systems; he is building a more intelligent, responsive and personal future for fitness.
