Bojan Klasan

Bojan Klasan serves as the Head of Data Centre at A1 Croatia, a leading telecommunications provider in the region. In this role, he oversees the strategic planning, construction, expansion and optimisation of A1 Croatia's data centre infrastructure. His responsibilities include ensuring scalability, reliability, and cost-efficiency while adhering to industry standards. Bojan also manages budgets, collaborates with suppliers, mitigates risks and leads a team of technical experts to optimize performance and minimise downtime.

Bojan's entry into the data centre industry began early in his career when he worked with a university-based ISP provider where he was exposed to the core aspects of data centre operations. Over time, he transitioned into implementing individual components within data centres, gaining hands-on technical expertise. His career evolved further as he took on project management roles, overseeing the construction of multiple data centres.

With more than a decade of experience spanning technical work and large-scale project execution, Bojan developed a deep understanding of data centre infrastructure. This expertise positioned him for leadership roles, culminating in his current position at A1 Croatia. Today, he applies his knowledge to ensure the efficiency and scalability of A1 Croatia's data centres while aligning them with business objectives.

Under Bojan's leadership, A1 Croatia has made significant strides in developing advanced data centre facilities.

The A1 Zagreb Data Centre achieved Tier III certification from the Uptime Institute, marking it as one of the most secure and reliable facilities in Croatia. This certification underscores its high standards for operational continuity and data security.

The Zagreb facility is uniquely designed to withstand earthquakes up to magnitude 9 on the Richter scale. This resilience was incorporated following a 5.5 magnitude earthquake that struck Zagreb in March 2020.

The data centre spans 2,000 square meters and hosts up to 300 IT cabinets across six technical rooms. It features its own substation powered by two independent power branches with a maximum capacity of 2MW, and exceptional energy efficiency (A+) has been achieved at the facility through innovative design and infrastructure solutions.

The Zagreb Data Centre is considered one of the most modern facilities in Croatia and neighboring regions. It supports advanced ICT solutions for business users while offering 24/7 operational support.

Bojan emphasises collaboration and proactive risk management as key elements of his leadership approach. He fosters innovation within his team by encouraging technical expertise and strategic thinking. Additionally, he prioritises stakeholder communication to ensure transparency in progress and challenges.
