Why Dynatrace Signs Analytics Deal With F1 Team VCARB

Formula One teams are increasingly relying on AI and data analytics to gain competitive advantages, as microseconds in performance data can determine race outcomes.
The integration of AI systems into motorsport has accelerated since 2023, with teams seeking technology partnerships to process the volumes of data generated by modern racing cars.
Performance monitoring systems now track thousands of data points per second from vehicle sensors, analysing everything from tire degradation to fuel consumption patterns.
The value of real-time analytics in Formula One has grown as teams face tighter technical regulations and cost caps, making efficiency in development and race strategy critical.
In this light, Dynatrace, the New York Stock Exchange-listed software intelligence firm, has partnered with Formula One team Visa Cash App Racing Bulls (VCARB) to provide AI-powered analytics and monitoring technology for the 2025 racing season.
The partnership aims to analyse vehicle performance data and driver metrics through Dynatrace's observability platform, which uses AI to monitor software performance and provide real-time system analysis.
VCARB implements Dynatrace AI platform for racing analytics
The Formula One team, formerly known as Scuderia AlphaTauri, will use Dynatrace's technology to monitor the data points generated during races.
The platform provides real-time analysis of vehicle dynamics and race strategy through ML algorithms.
Peter Bayer, Chief Executive Officer at VCARB, says: "In F1, every millisecond matters. Having Dynatrace on board gives us an edge by enabling unparalleled insights and analytics that translate into performance gains."
The partnership aims to transform race operations from reactive to predictive analysis, providing insights that could determine podium positions.
The system monitors millions of interconnected data points required to operate a Formula One team.
Dynatrace software deployment targets race performance
The partnership focuses on implementing Dynatrace's Davis hypermodal AI system, which processes operational data to identify performance issues and suggest optimisations and this technology monitors application security and system performance through continuous analysis.
Laura Heisman, Chief Marketing Officer at Dynatrace, says: "VCARB and Dynatrace share the same value of being performance obsessed, and we are continually looking to push the boundaries of what's possible for technological innovation."
The technology aims to provide VCARB's engineers and strategists with data analysis for race-time decision making and the platform processes information from vehicle sensors and team systems to generate insights during races.
VCARB evolution in Formula One competition
VCARB brings experience from over 370 Formula One race starts since 2006.
The team achieved victory at the Italian Grand Prix in 2020 after rebranding from Scuderia Toro Rosso to Scuderia AlphaTauri and has focused on developing future champions in Formula One, with graduates of their programme achieving race victories and world championships.
The partnership launch includes demonstrations at Perform 2025, Dynatrace's technology conference in Las Vegas from February 3-5 and the event will showcase applications of the analytics platform in race scenarios.
Laura says: "Our partnership will enable VCARB to turn its data into an asset to help the drivers, engineers, and racing strategists make instant, race winning decisions in critical moments."
