Kenneth Mulvany has been appointed as the Executive Chairman of BenevolentAI, a company applying advanced AI to revolutionise biopharma drug discovery and development.
Kennethās extensive experience spans nearly three decades at the intersection of healthcare and technology, making him a prominent entrepreneur and investor in the biotechnology and artificial intelligence sectors.
Kenneth founded BenevolentAI in 2013, recognising the potential of AI to address significant healthcare challenges. Under his leadership, the company has developed a sophisticated AI platform that has achieved notable milestones, including securing the first FDA approval for an AI-identified drug and establishing partnerships with leading pharmaceutical companies.
His vision for BenevolentAI is to fully unlock the platform's capabilities, enhancing its role in shaping the future of drug discovery.
Previously, Ken was the founder and CEO of Proximagen Group plc, a London-listed biotech firm focused on neurodegenerative diseases. His strategic leadership led to multiple successful corporate transactions, culminating in Proximagen's sale for US$553m in 2012. Beyond his entrepreneurial achievements, Ken has served on advisory boards, including the UK Government's AI strategy board and Oxford Sciences Innovationās advisory board.
Ken's commitment to healthcare innovation is further reflected in his philanthropic efforts, notably his role as chair of the Cure Parkinsonās Trust from 2013 to 2018. As he steps into this new role at BenevolentAI, Ken aims to drive forward the company's mission of leveraging AI to enhance drug discovery and deliver transformative therapies for unmet medical needs.
