Sony AI has appointed Dr Peter Stone as its new Chief Scientist as well as Deputy President of Sony AI.
In this position, Stone will be instrumental in directing the company's AI strategy, overseeing critical initiatives, and providing support to researchers throughout the organisation. He will also facilitate collaboration among major projects.
As Chief Scientist, Stone will mentor the research team, encouraging them to expand the frontiers of AI while prioritising ethical considerations in their work.
He takes on this role part time as to fit around his role as Professor of Computer Science at The University of Texas at Austin.
