AI Factory Expansion: HPE and Nvidia’s Blackwell AI Leap

Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) is strategically enhancing its AI offerings in collaboration with Nvidia by introducing an advanced suite of AI infrastructure solutions.
These solutions incorporate Nvidia’s state-of-the-art Blackwell GPUs within its comprehensive AI infrastructure framework.
Revealed at the HPE Discover Las Vegas 2025 event, this strategic initiative positions HPE and Nvidia as formidable challengers to existing hyperscale cloud providers by offering turnkey AI solutions that streamline deployment.
The Blackwell advantage
The centerpiece of HPE’s newly expanded AI capabilities is the HPE Private Cloud AI, designed to integrate seamlessly with Nvidia’s Blackwell architecture, supported by HPE ProLiant Compute Gen12 servers.
According to HPE’s internal benchmarks, these servers have consistently outperformed in over 23 AI performance tests.
HPE’s infrastructure includes vital features like air-gapped management to uphold data privacy and multi-tenancy for effective resource distribution across various teams.
Antonio Neri, President and CEO of HPE, says: “Gen, agentic and physical AI have the potential to transform global productivity and create lasting societal change, but AI is only as good as the infrastructure and data behind it.”
To encourage adoption, HPE has launched a “try and buy” program, allowing prospective customers to experience the capabilities of Private Cloud AI via Equinix’s expansive data center network before making any commitments.
Targeted AI solutions
HPE has crafted three distinct AI factory solutions tailored to meet diverse organisational needs.
For large-scale applications, they offer solutions with HPE ProLiant Compute XD systems complemented by Nvidia AI Enterprise software and cutting-edge cooling technologies.
This large-scale approach primarily targets service providers and model development teams.
The sovereign AI solution also caters to government and public sector requirements, providing specialised management and data sovereignty features.
Jensen Huang, CEO of Nvidia, says: “We are entering a new industrial era – one defined by the ability to generate intelligence at scale.”
State-of-the-art innovations
The HPE Compute XD690 exemplifies the latest in AI-focused hardware, equipped to support eight of Nvidia’s Blackwell Ultra GPUs.
This system is managed by the HPE Performance Cluster Manager, enabling streamlined systems management across extensive AI environments that can scale to thousands of nodes.
Additionally, advancements in storage infrastructure are highlighted by the HPE Alletra Storage MP X10000, designed to enhance AI data pipelines through its compatibility with Model Context Protocol servers.
Industries embracing AI transformation
The expansion of the Unleash AI partner ecosystem, now featuring 26 new collaborators, empowers HPE to address over 75 AI use cases across a variety of sectors, including agentic AI, smart cities and cybersecurity.
A notable collaboration with Accenture has been announced to develop agentic AI solutions specifically for the financial services sector, leveraging the Accenture AI Refinery platform on HPE’s Private Cloud AI.
Financial and strategic impact
HPE Financial Services has introduced an enticing programme that offers reduced financial commitments on Private Cloud AI for the first six months, thereby expediting AI adoption within enterprises.
This programme allows enterprises to utilise their existing technology assets as capital to fund additional AI initiatives.
“Together, HPE and Nvidia are delivering full-stack AI factory infrastructure to drive this transformation, empowering enterprises to harness their data and accelerate innovation with unprecedented speed and precision,” Jensen says
