How Microagi is Powering AI Robotics on Google Cloud

Microagi, a Munich-based robotics deployment company, raised an unprecedented US$55m in seed funding.
Riding high on what is the largest seed round in German history, the company announced a collaboration with Google Cloud aimed at accelerating the development of models and robotics capable of understanding and interacting with physical environments.
It comes less than a year after the company was founded by former Formula 1 engineers from Red Bull Racing and Mercedes-AMG Petronas.
"Building the next generation of embodied AI requires intensive compute, a comprehensive stack of AI technologies, and deep engineering expertise," says Bercan Kilic, CEO of Microagi.
Microagi’s Atlas platform
The company operates a unique business model designed to accelerate robotics AI development, including training task-specific models for robotic platforms.
Its platform, Atlas, fine-tunes AI models on a customer's own operations, drawing on Microagi's proprietary data corpus. It is positioned to close the gap between the robot that impresses in a demo and the robot that does reliable work on the line.
Anton Poletaev, Co-Founder of Microagi, celebrating the company’s seed round, said in a recent LinkedIn post: “Models and hardware are moving faster than people outside the field realise. Deployment barely moves at all.
“Getting good demonstration data and getting a policy to survive a real production line is still brutally hard. That's why we are building our deployment product - Atlas - to tackle this at scale.
“Our goal is to make 'made in Europe' cheaper and more widespread, within the next few years. Cheaper housing, cheaper energy, more things built around you. If you run an industrial company and what to accelerate this, talk to us.”
Anton formerly worked at the Alan Turing Institute as a Research Data Scientist in Public Sector AI.
Working with Google Cloud and NVIDIA
Fresh off the back the seed round announcement, US giant Google Cloud announced the European startup will use its advanced AI stack.
Google Cloud says this includes Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform and its leading AI models to process multimodal information like video, combined with an overall cloud platform that can scale its applications and technology to large enterprise customers globally.
Dr Itxaso Araque, Director of Digital Natives and Startups for EMEA North at Google Cloud, says: "Google Cloud's AI stack is designed to power complex, multimodal data pipelines like Microagi's.
"By using high-performance infrastructure like the NVIDIA Blackwell platform within Google Cloud, Microagi is building a highly practical path toward deploying useful robotics in everyday commercial environments. We're proud to underpin much of this rapid advancement."
The partnership will ensure Microagi has access to NVIDIA RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell Server Edition GPUs (G4 VMs) and NVIDIA GB300 NVL72 rack-scale systems (A4X Max instances) to power its model training and inference workloads.
"Robotics is becoming one of the most demanding frontiers for AI, requiring massive physical-world datasets, accelerated compute and a full-stack platform to turn models into intelligent machines," says Tobias Halloran, Director of EMEAI Startups at NVIDIA.
Robotics to power European growth
Deindustrialisation has been ongoing for 30 years in Europe. Manufacturing accounted for 20% of the EU’s GDP in 1990 but dipped down to 14% in 2009 during the financial crisis, before stabilising at the current 15%, according to data published by Strategic Perspectives in 2025.
Microagi is positioned to use AI to reinvigorate European manufacturing, which has declined in its economic share since the 1990s while China’s position as a manufacturing powerhouse has only grown.
Bercan says: “Industrial Europe has 12 to 18 months to build its robotic edge. We cannot afford to repeat Europe's hesitation on AI.
“If you run factories in Europe, the maths is already on your desk. Your most experienced people retire this decade, and their replacements were never born.”
China currently leads the way in robotics, representing 54% of global deployments according to statistics from International Federation of Robotics.
The European Parliament says in its report – Industrial overcapacities with a focus on China – the EU has repeatedly raised concerns that state-supported industrial overcapacity in China is leading to artificially low export prices, undermining fair competition and threatening EU manufacturing sectors, including in emerging technologies.
