It aims to address the challenges faced by employees who often rely on multiple applications
Google's launch of Agentspace, alongside its Gemini 2.0, has given enterprises the ability to launch powerful AI agents across their data

In a landscape where information is often siloed and fragmented, organisations are seeking solutions that can unlock their collective intelligence and drive productivity.

With Gen AI having gained a foothold in many enterprises, the next evolution, agentic AI, is being seen as a way to augment these offerings further and unify the solutions.

In this context, Google has introduced Google Agentspace, a platform designed to bridge these gaps by providing a unified solution that integrates advanced AI capabilities with seamless data access.

Unlocking enterprise expertise

Google Agentspace is a platform developed by Google Cloud that leverages Gen AI to enhance enterprise productivity and streamline workflows.

It aims to address the challenges faced by employees who often rely on multiple applications—averaging four to six—to access information and perform tasks.

“Switching across multiple apps to find and stitch together data can slow productivity and lead to missed opportunities,” says Raj Pai, Vice President and Product Lead of Cloud AI at Google Cloud.

It integrates Gemini’s AI capabilities with Google-quality search functionality, allowing employees to access a unified platform that connects various enterprise data sources.

This includes popular applications such as Salesforce, SharePoint, and ServiceNow. The platform is powered by Google's Gemini large language models, which provide advanced reasoning capabilities and multimodal assistance—meaning it can understand and process information from text, images, audio, and video.

One of the standout features of Google Agentspace is its multimodal search agent, which acts as a central source of truth for an organisation.

This agent can handle both structured data (like tables) and unstructured data (such as documents and emails), making it easier for employees to find relevant information quickly.

Additionally, the platform includes pre-built connectors for commonly used applications, ensuring that users can access a broad spectrum of tools without navigating through multiple interfaces.

Another significant aspect of Google Agentspace is its integration with NotebookLM, a research and note-taking tool that allows users to synthesise complex information. NotebookLM offers features such as audio summaries and the ability to upload documents for insight generation.

“NotebookLM allowed us to get the initial insights in minutes,” says Parinda Gandevikar Strategy Consultant at Deloitte.

With everything able to be managed centrally from this platform enables the possibilities of AI agents to fully work across a company’s operations in a cohesive way.

The platform also promises a low-code visual tool for employees to build their own agents, enabling further customisation and flexibility.

This allows companies to create agents designed for various functions—such as onboarding new employees for their HR or generating targeted marketing content— allowing organisations to automate repetitive tasks efficiently.

This capability is particularly valuable in sectors where time-sensitive decisions are crucial.

Google's advances in agentic AI

The introduction of Google Agentspace is part of a broader strategy by Google to enhance its offerings in the agentic AI space.

The recent unveiling of Gemini 2.0 underscores this commitment.

As CEO of Google Sundar Pichai stated, “Gemini 2.0 is about making information much more useful,” reflecting the model's enhanced multimodal capabilities that allow it to understand and process various forms of data including text, images, audio, and video.

Gemini 2.0 introduces features such as native image generation and audio output, significantly expanding the scope of what AI agents can achieve within enterprise settings.

This aligns with Google Agentspace’s ability to improve employee productivity by bringing AI to aid a range of tasks with new capabilities with a single prompt.

Nokia has already expressed enthusiasm about how Google Agentspace can revolutionise their operations. “Google Agentspace has the potential to revolutionise how our teams across Nokia find and leverage critical insights,” says Alan Triggs, Chief Digital Officer at Nokia.

Moreover, companies such as FairPrice are leveraging Google Agentspace to enhance their operational efficiency.

“We are building an organisation-wide research and assistance platform with Google Agentspace...to reduce manual effort,” says  Dennis Seah, Chief Digital & Technology Officer at FairPrice.

A new era of enterprise productivity

As businesses increasingly recognise the importance of integrating sophisticated AI tools into their operations, Google Agentspace stands out as a transformative solution.

By breaking down silos and providing seamless access to enterprise knowledge through advanced Gen AI technologies, Google is paving the way for organisations to apply AI to a range of tasks across disparate operations, automate processes and fetch internal data faster, all the ingredients for a fruitful future.
