Industry leader Dell Technologies, is proud to remain at the forefront of innovation regarding AI and generative AI across its portfolio

Multinational technology company, Dell Technologies, has recently announced the appointment of its first ever Chief AI Officer, Jeff Boudreau.

Boudreau, who started his journey with Dell more than 25 years ago, will assume the role responsible for the infrastructure leader’s strategy, as the company positions itself to establish the groundwork for generative AI initiatives.

As reported by CRN, in an email sent to company employees by Jeff Clarke, Dell’s Chief Operating Officer, Clarke wrote, “To establish Dell Technologies as an industry leader in AI, we need dedicated leadership to drive our AI strategy across the company. I’ve asked Jeff Boudreau to take on the new role of chief AI officer, reporting to me. His deep engineering and infrastructure expertise will help us accelerate and work as one team.”

Driving AI innovations to amplify value

Throughout his time with Dell, Boudreau has undergone many different roles, from engineering to operations, services to business management, and is now venturing into all things AI. With expertise covering strategy development and execution, cross-functional team leadership, and pioneering R&D, Boudreau is committed to delivering AI innovations that assist in amplifying value for both team members at Dell, and its customers.

Speaking on his new role, Boudreau shared via LinkedIn: “I'm honoured to take on this responsibility, ensuring that Dell remains at the forefront of AI and generative AI innovation.

“Working closely with Michael Dell, Jeff Clarke, Matt Baker and the entire team, I'm looking forward to driving our AI vision and integrating AI across our product portfolio. We are laser focused on designing and delivering AI-powered solutions that help our customers transform the way they work and help them solve real problems.”

As Dell’s first ever Chief AI Officer, Boudreau will oversee and be responsible for the company’s Centre for Innovation, with the team focusing on shaping Dell’s AI strategy and policies, creating meaningful AI partnerships and advocating for the advancement of secure and ethical AI and GenAI technologies for the future.

In his previous role as President of Dell’s Infrastructure Solutions Group (ISG), Boudreau spearheaded a global team of 23,000 innovators, committed to accelerating insights everywhere that data lives. Boudreau’s leadership of this multibillion-dollar enterprise elevated Dell Technologies to the number one position, establishing it as the world's largest infrastructure provider, laying the essential groundwork for advancing today's AI innovations.

Taking over as ISG president is Arthur Lewis, who for the past six years, has been leading within ISG, recently focusing on customer-first strategy and roadmap. In his expanded leadership capacity, Lewis and the team will continue to carry out Dell’s successful ISG strategy, while evolving with the industry and its customers.

Looking forward, Boudreau strongly believes that AI is an absolute game changer and is driving fundamental change in the pace of innovation. With a passion for technology and the potential that AI, multi-cloud, and data have to transform businesses and industries, Boudreau’s dedication towards helping customers transform how they work, as well as developing and empowering the next generation of tech leaders to reach better outcomes, is evident.
